Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. She dreamed of being a reporter for the court in the early years of her life, however she began modelling in high school and eventually gaining commercials when she moved from New York. In 1981, she appeared as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of TV movies, film and dramas after that. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. The talented actress has had to deal with addiction issues in the past and had two divorces. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
